Bollywood Dining Spots in Mumbai: Six Restaurants With Documented Celebrity Links

Celebrity sightings can change overnight. These six Mumbai restaurants make the list because their Bollywood connections are documented—not because anyone is claiming to know a star’s private favourites.

Calling a restaurant a celebrity “favourite” is easy. Proving it is much harder.

Public sightings establish that someone visited a restaurant on a particular occasion. A celebrity investor or co-owner establishes a business relationship. Neither automatically proves where that person eats most often, what they privately prefer, or which table they would choose tonight.

This guide therefore uses a narrower standard.

Every restaurant below has a documented Bollywood connection, either through recent reported visits, repeated media coverage or a direct celebrity business association. Older evidence is dated clearly rather than presented as current behaviour.

That produces a more useful picture of how restaurants and celebrity culture intersect in Mumbai without turning speculation into fact.

1. Maaslli Saraswat and GSB Speciality

Maaslli attracted national attention in March 2026 when Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were photographed visiting the Mumbai restaurant.

Indian Express reported their lunch at the 32-seat Worli restaurant and described Maaslli’s focus on Gaud Saraswat Brahmin cuisine. Read the Indian Express report on Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh at Maaslli.

That makes Maaslli one of the clearest recent entries on this list.

More importantly, its appeal is tied to a specific culinary identity rather than a generic celebrity-lifestyle concept. The restaurant’s visibility illustrates how regional Indian cooking can become part of Mumbai’s high-profile dining conversation without being reformulated into anonymous “modern Indian” food.

What the evidence shows is a documented celebrity visit.

What it does not show is that Maaslli is the private “favourite” of everyone photographed there.

2. Benne – Heritage Bangalore Dosa

Benne entered the celebrity-news cycle through a very different format: dosa.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were reported at the brand’s Chowpatty location during friends-and-family trials in March 2026. The same report notes that they had also visited its Bandra outlet shortly after launch. Read the Indian Express report on Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh at Benne.

Indian Express also identifies Akhil Iyer and Shriya Narayan as the founders and describes the brand’s Bengaluru-style benne-dosa format.

Its presence here is useful because it challenges the idea that Bollywood-linked dining has to mean velvet ropes and elaborate tasting menus.

A casual restaurant can become culturally visible for the same reason any other restaurant can: distinctive food, a strong identity and public attention.

3. Boojee Cafe

Boojee represents another side of Mumbai’s celebrity-food ecosystem: the neighbourhood-style café that accumulates famous customers over time.

In August 2026, NDTV Food reported that Ananya Panday, Shahid Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were among the celebrities spotted at Boojee. The same report identifies Rajdeep Singh Kukreja as the founder and says the café had expanded to five Mumbai locations. Read NDTV Food’s report on Boojee and its celebrity clientele.

The celebrity list is less interesting than what it says about contemporary café culture.

Mumbai’s high-profile dining map now extends well beyond formal restaurants. Coffee shops, bakeries and all-day cafés increasingly function as places to work, meet and eat casually.

The appropriate claim is simply that Boojee has documented celebrity patronage.

Anything stronger would require evidence of frequency or private preference that public reporting does not provide.

4. Torii by Gauri Khan

Torii offers one of the clearest direct Bollywood connections in this guide.

Indian Express describes Torii as a modern Asian restaurant co-founded by Gauri Khan in Mumbai’s Pali Hill and documents her involvement with its menu and operations. Read Indian Express on Gauri Khan’s role at Torii.

Its celebrity connection extends beyond ownership. In a separate 2025 interview, Torii head chef Stefan Gadit discussed repeated visits by Shah Rukh Khan and members of the Khan family, including Suhana, Aryan and AbRam. Read the Indian Express report on celebrity visits to Torii.

Torii therefore belongs here for two documented reasons: a direct Bollywood-linked ownership story and reported celebrity patronage.

That is a stronger basis than inferring a star’s private preferences from a single photograph.

5. Hakkasan

Some restaurants acquire celebrity associations not through a single viral moment but through years of public dining coverage.

Hakkasan is one of them.

Vogue’s 2019 Mumbai dining guide documented visits involving Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, and Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli. Read Vogue’s documented Mumbai celebrity-dining guide.

That evidence is historical and should be treated as such. It demonstrates a longstanding celebrity connection, not that any particular celebrity is a current regular.

Hakkasan’s Mumbai restaurant is currently operating and its official venue page lists seven-day lunch and dinner service. See Hakkasan Mumbai’s current official venue page.

For a credible guide, the date is part of the story.

Celebrity restaurant coverage becomes misleading when an old photograph is presented as if it described current habits.

6. Yauatcha – BKC

Yauatcha’s Mumbai restaurant has similarly appeared in celebrity dining coverage over many years.

Vogue’s 2019 guide documented visits associated with Sanjay Dutt and his family, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, and Hrithik Roshan. Read Vogue’s documented account of celebrity visits to Yauatcha.

Again, that evidence should be dated rather than inflated.

It establishes that Yauatcha has occupied a recognisable place in Mumbai’s celebrity dining history. It does not establish who visits most frequently today.

The restaurant is currently open for dine-in, delivery and takeaway, according to Hakkasan Group’s current Mumbai venue page. See Yauatcha Mumbai’s current official venue page.

Restaurants change. Celebrity routines change. Public photographs capture moments, not permanent preference rankings.

Celebrity-linked does not mean celebrity-owned—or celebrity-approved

There is a useful difference between three kinds of connection.

A celebrity can be photographed eating somewhere. A celebrity can repeatedly appear in reports about a restaurant. Or a celebrity can be financially or publicly involved with the business itself.

Those are not interchangeable.

For diners, the more durable question is what the restaurant actually represents beyond the sighting: regional food at Maaslli, Bengaluru-style dosa at Benne, contemporary café culture at Boojee, Gauri Khan’s hospitality venture at Torii, and established international restaurant brands in Hakkasan and Yauatcha.

Celebrity visibility may put a restaurant on the radar.

It should not replace the food as the reason to understand it.
